King Hengest the Invader

Hengest was a Extraordinary Saxon King from Kent. He served Uther at the time of his death.

He was the son of Wihtgils and Eir. He was unmarried. He has no sons or daughters.

He died in 469 A.D. He was 74 years old.

Description

Hengest and Horsa are legendary brothers said to have led the Angles, Saxons, and Jutes in their invasion of Britain in the 5th century. Tradition lists Hengest as the first of the Jutish kings of Kent. His is still known as the greatest warrior king of the Saxons, and stories of him are told to British children to make them eat their porridge.

Hengest died in 469, dragged screaming from his Heorgeneats by Duke Eldol of Glevum and executed.
