Cymric Shield (Roman period)

Shield-cymric.png

Rich families and nobles painted their shields in colourful patterns. Since Constantine's time, some families had gotten the special right to paint their shield in recognisable colours. This right was usually only for the best of the best.

Protection: 5
Durability: 2
Usage: Can be used on foot or on horse. It is however primarily used on foot, and if used from horse, wielder looses the “+5” part of the bonus against footed soldiers (normally +5/-5). The footed soldier still get’s the penalty of -5. The shield protects, but is unwieldy on horse.
