Metal Cymric Shield (Roman period)
Sometimes, rich noble warriors create large shields from metal. These give the same area of protection as the large wooden shields, but are some-what more durable.
SInce these shields are of metal, they cannot be painted in noble colors effectively.
Protection: 5
Durability: 3
Usage: Can be used on foot or on horse. It is however primarily used on foot, and if used from horse, wielder looses the “+5” part of the bonus against footed soldiers (normally +5/-5). The footed soldier still get’s the penalty of -5. The shield protects, but is unwieldy on horse.
