Description
Argan was Uther’s “fixer.” He was one of the king’s constables, although most of those duties actually fell to hwas deputy Sir Llywarch because Sir Argan was frequently traveling all over Logres, eliminating problems for the king. He used any means necessaryto ensure people do what Uther wants, confident the king would absolve him of any wrongdoing. Sir Argan was strong and tough, with chestnut hair and blue eyes. He lost his left ear fighting against the rebellious King of Bedegraine.
He was often seen traveling with his close friend Sir Galehaut the Brown.
Argan was married to a gorgeous lady named Dyagenne. After Ygraine rejected Uther for giving their child to Merlin the Magician, the king seduced Dyagenne, cuckolding Argan. When the constable discovered this he slew Dyagenne in a fit of jealousy.
Then he rode to court and publicly challenged Uther to a judicial duel! Inspired by his rage, Argan won. He ransomed the king’s life for the cost of a castle which he then built, calling it “Uther’s Shame.” Sir Argan retired to it and from there he and his sons harass the knights of the king for decades at the Red Tower Bridge.
Argan survived St Albans.
