~ Notable Household Knight ~

Sir Gaudifier the Pincera

Gaudifier was a Notable Cymric Household Knight from Royal Progress. He served Uther at the time of his death.

He was the son of an unknown man and an unknown woman. He was unmarried. He has no sons or daughters.

He died in 495 A.D. He was 60 years old.

Description

Sir Gaudifier was the royal cupbearer, and at great feasts stood behind the king and poured his wine.

He was the royal taster too, although he had several subordinates who he allowed to do this job. At mealtime, Gaudifier greeted people before they meet the king and made sure they were aware of minimal protocol (kneel, speak only when spoken to, back out slowly), determined if any special honors are required for the person and oversaw the trumpeters, honor guard, translator, pages, and every other functionary. His duties expanded to include oversight of the entire hall. He hired musicians and acrobats, decided who sits above the salt, and more.

Sir Gaudifier was killed at the Battle of St Albans, causing him not to be present during the Infamous Feast and stopping it from taking place.
