Ceiwyn

Ceiwyn was a Renowned Cymric Warrior from Salisbury. He served Robyn at the time of his death.

He was the son of an unknown man and an unknown woman. He was unmarried. He has no sons or daughters.

He died in 463 A.D. He was 43 years old.

He was also part of the Bannermen.




Timeline

Constans reigns

420: Born in summer, under an oak.

439: Became a fully fledged warrior at the age of 19

439: Fought in an echille in the Battle of Carlion under King Constantine with great bravery, together with Bryn, Edern and Cadwallon. Was given vassalage under The Lord of Sarum Rock for the great deeds in the battle.

441: Swears fealty to the new High King, Constans, son of Constantin

443: Is not present when High King Constans is murdered by his Pictish guards, but witnesses a young boy watching from the sidelines. Follows the boy, but looses him in the forest more than a week later.

Vortigern reigns

444: Fought in several skirmishes, protecting against Pictish raids.

445: Digs in with parts of Vortigerns army in castle Wardour. The Castle is besieged in Spring. The castle falls in late autumn after the old roman walls falls to roman sappers forced to work for the Picts. Manages to escape with parts of the troops.

446: Takes part in the Battle of Lincoln, where Vortigern has a great victory against the Picts with help from the Saxon kings Hengest and Horsa.

447: Witnesses the beautiful and wild Rowena seducing King Vortigern at the winter court.

450: Witnessed the wedding of King Vortigern and Princess Rowena.

451: After having complained out loud about Rowenas pregnancy before her wedding, was sent to aid Aetius in the Battle of Chalons. Manages to survive the legendary battle and returns to Britain with the other survivors, all of whom were knights dissatisfied with Vortigern’s policies. Vortigern welcomes the knights with honeyed words and a bitter heart.

452-454: Takes part in the raids on Ireland.

456: Helps expel the Irish raiders from Cambria.

457: Reluctantly takes part in the Battle of Kent, where British rebels from Kent are crushed and forced from their old lands to make way for the Saxon theods.

460: Took part in The Adventure of The Rules of Hospitality

461: Took part in The Adventure of The Dragon Banner

463: Died in the Night of Long Knives and Swore the Oath of Crows in the The Adventure of the Coming Dawn

Book of the Dead

Ceiwyn fell with the first sunrays hitting his face in his 43rd year in the forest of Gloom. His acts of bravery in defending his family and his children unto his death is talked about for many generations. His body was laid at rest in a tomb with effigy, payed for by Aurelius Ambrosius for deeds in the Kings Service that is never spoken of. Many of his glorious deeds were ahead of their time, and are often retold by later relatives. Amongst his many great deeds, he took part in felling the giant Sigeberht Longsword. He died a Notable Warrior.

Ceiwyn was known for his Generosity and Worldy personality, as well as his sense of Justice and his Valour. He was also known for his Fealty to Robyn and his Hospitality.

He was an excellent Swordsman as well as a talented Spearman, Courtier and was known for always remembering a face.

Ceiwyns wife died a few years before the attack and they left behind but a single child, Maelgwyn. The boy was taken in by Edern wife Lilo.

His son Maelgwyn inherits the manor of Chillmark with all the lands that came with it, an empty bottle of Martin’s water, an old cymric chainmail with helmet, a cymric sword, a dagger, 5 spears and two painted shields. The Saxon Clothes he wore at time of death was burned.
