~ Notable Household Knight ~
Sir Diocenar the Butler
Diocenar was a Notable Cymric Household Knight from Thamesmouth. He served Uther at the time of his death.
He was the son of an unknown man and an unknown woman. He was unmarried. He has no sons or daughters.
He died in 493 A.D. He was 55 years old.
Description
Diocenar was in charge of the buttery, or butts of wine. He ordered thousands of gallons per year making sure that the several qualities for knights, lords, and the king were available at every royal site.
He also oversaw the other food functions like the larderer, pantler, and kitchener. Sir Diocenar was a veteran warrior whose wounds did not allow him to the field of battle. He was a stern taskmaster; his underlings were all afraid of his sharp blows to the head when they erred. He held a couple of manors in Clarence, but was always at court.
He was a hard worker until his wife, the Lady Eleri, was seduced by Galehaut the Brown, whereupon he died of a broken heart.
