Roedeer hundred was granted to Salisbury as part of the original Honour of Sarum Upon the Rock. The hundred court is held at Great Roedeer. It’s northern border is formed by the massive earthworks known as Ambrosius’ Dike. The market town of Borders with it’s motte-and-bailey castle forms the beating heart of this hundred.
