The position as Bailiff made him pretty much the highest ranking commoner in all of Hillfort hundred, and even the nobles respected his authority in the Hundred court. He was appointed as the Bailiff by Rudderch, Dominus Sorviodunum many years ago. He was usually silent, and let the lords do their work, but when voices are raised, he hammered his staff on the ground and called for silence. He died in the Night of the Long Knives, ironically of old age moments before the event. }}
