~ Extraordinary Vassal Knight ~

Sir Yvo the Standard-bearer

Yvo was a Extraordinary Cymric Vassal Knight from Royal Progress. He had no lord at the time of his death.

He was the son of an unknown man and an unknown woman. He was unmarried. He has no sons or daughters.

He died in 495 A.D. He was 69 years old.

Only three men living was allowed to touch the ancient banner of the Pendragon: King Uther, his son Madoc, and Sir Yvo of Lower Hightown (in County Hantonne). Yvo earned this right serving Aurelius Ambrosius in battle.

Despite the great honors heaped upon him by king and others, Yvo was a simple, loyal fellow who enjoyed the company of other knights. He loved telling war stories about the many campaigns with Aurelius and Uther that made him famous. He held several manors in southern Logres.

Even amongst other knights Sir Yvo stood out. He was strong and tall, his brown hair and beard speckled with grey, giving him the appearance of maturity, his scarred nose and slight limp betraying his experience on the battlefield.

He wore silvered armor, polished so that it is blinding in the sunlight. He was known as the best sword-fighter in Logres.

During the Battle of St Albans in 495, King Octa and his heorthgeneats managed to break through the British lines to capture the King’s banner. Sir Yvo was killed defending it. Sir Brastias took up the banner and managed to keep it safe, but was gravely wounded in the process.
