Information

Est Seaxe is a Saxon kingdom carved from the Duchy of Caercolun by its King Aethelswith. Extending from Colchester to the gates of London, it is a major threat to the capital of Logres.

Rulers

  • 485-present: Aethelswith

Geography

  • Colchester: This once-grand city in Caercolun County was formerly the capital city of Roman Britain. Now it is a stop on the Royal Road, and the seat of one of the legates of the Supreme Collegium.
  • Maldon: Once a thriving port city in Caercolun, now degrading under Saxon yoke.
  • Chelmsford: A city on the Royal Road.

History

485 The southern part of the Duchy of Caercolun is invaded by Saxons led by King Aethelswift with assistance from King Hengest. The fighting is fierce but the Saxons are victorious and take the city of Maldon.

486 The fighting in Southern Caercolun continues, but the Saxons outnumber the Britons. Duke Lucius of Caercolun is ambushed and killed, marking the beginning of the kingdom of Est Seaxe. Despite the best attempts of Marvis de Revel, the Saxons carved apart another British duchy.

487 Saxons of Est Seaxe raid the coast of Caercolun, establishing and fortifying their power as more warriors arrive.

496 Aetheling Aescwine of Est Seaxe arrives in Salisbury demanding tribute.
